The following guinea pigs are at the rescue and are waiting for loving forever homes. I try to update this page regularly, but not all the guinea pigs are shown, so please get in touch if you are looking for a specific piggy.

Please remember guinea pigs live for up to 7 years so a lot of thought needs to be given before rehoming a guinea pig. It is not a case of how quickly can I get one, thought and research needs to go into making  this decision.

Guinea pigs adopted from the rescue must not be kept on woodshavings, they are completely unsuitable for piggies and pose health risks.

Guinea pigs will not be rehomed as the sole responsibility of a child (under 18 years old). A guinea pig is a animal and not a toy and therefore needs a caring and dedicated adult to be responsible for its care. Many of the guinea pigs come to me because they have been bought for children who lose interest. This is not fair on the piggies. I do rehome piggies to be part of families, but there must be an adult interest.

Home checks are always carrired out prior to adoption. Please read the adoption policy for more information on the adoption process.

Thank you for considering adopting a rescued piggy!

Looking for Homes

Albie and Gogo: Albie is a huge guinea pig weighing an enormous 1.4 kgs. He is three years old and very cuddly and tame. Sadly Albie has tumours in his groin and under his arms. Therefore he will stay at the rescue to live out the end of his life in comfort with his friend Gogo! Gogo will be up for rehoming after this time. In foster care at present.

I would like to get these girls into a home before Christmas...Biscuit and Molly: Biscuit is about a year old and Molly is about a year and a half old. They both live together quite happily but prefer to sleep in seperate beds so need a home that has seperate bed areas for them. They are a little shy of being picked up but are very enquistive when out in the run. They are becoming mroe interactive with me now. They would be better suited to a quiet home without very young children.
Arrival at rescue:  September 2009
Alfie, Beatrice and Eugenie: Alfie is a handsome and very vocal boar.  He was picked up as a stray so I don't know how old he is, but he is young, about 8-9 months old. He has been neutered and has settled well with the girls. Beatrice and Eugenie are a pair of very prety tri-coloured sows. They are about 2 and a half years old and were no longer wanted as the children  lost interest! They have not been handled much so are a bit skittish. The girls must be rehomed together, and if possible Alfie would like to join them. These are a fabulously bonded group and would make a wonderful addition to a piggy friendly home.
Arrival at rescue:  September 2009
Thanks to all who donated to the November appeal. I was really suprised at the generosity of so many people. The piggies were all very happy with their treats.

Special thanks to the following for their donations: Steve, Meg, Kate, Jamie, Sarah, Laura, Ash, Emma, Louise, Claire, David S, Lucy, Amanda, Kirsty, Melanie, Susan, Alexandra, David C,  Ruth, Carolynn, Kathryn, Sue, Nicole and Lynne!

Thanks also to those who have offered to foster.

Urgently needing homes
These are guinea pigs that have been in rescue for a while or who are older and need to get settled into a new home more quickly.
Boo and Casper: A pair of two and a half year old boars. Sadly in rescue due to the owner having a baby. Very small piggies who would like a home asap. These boys are very vocal and sociable with people. I don't want these boys to be in rescue much longer. It would make them so happy to be in  loving home soon. They like to practice their acrobat skills during the day! Photo to follow very soon.

Arrival at rescue:  November 2009
Robin and Frankie: Robin came in as an emergency along with 4 others. He has been severely neglected and it is unclear how old he is. He will need lots of TLC. He is living with Frankie (his son). Frankie is about 10 weeks old.  His owners had been given him about 4 weeks ago, along with 4 other guinea pigs but found their squeaking annoying, and also didn't like touching small furry things!
Arrival at rescue:  November 2009
Johnny and Tinks: Have come from another guinea pig rescue that is very busy. These boys are long haired so will need a home which is prepared to give them extra attention to keep them looking fine. They are 8 months old. They are quite skitty but have only just arrived. These boys will not be rehomed to breeders.

Not yet ready for rehoming
All the guinea pigs that are receiving treatment, are pregnant or on pregnancy watch.
Sorrow: Came in to the rescue with Robin, Frankie and Tinker as an emergency case. Their owner said that they were squeaking and it was getting annoying. He also said they were losing their hair and had scabs, as well as telling me that they were fighting so one had been seperated. The owners had no idea of the sex of any of the guinea pigs, so I am unsure as to what they were planning to do with them all. They had only had them 4 weeks and appeared to know nothing about guinea pigs, having been given them by a friend. They had no hay and were just outside on woodshavings. Sorrow is in a terrible state. She is practically bald all over, extremely thin, all her bones protrude, as well as being heavily pregnant. She must have been freezing outside with no fur or bedding. From what I understood she has just been continuously pregnant all her life and it is unclear how old she is. She has settled in here with her baby girl, Tinker, and is eating non stop. It is likely she will stay at the rescue so she has no more stress of being moved, unless an exceptional home came forward. Here are some pictures of the awful state she is in. Update: Sorrow had quite a traumatic labour but is now doing well. She gave birth to 6 babies, which is a very large amount for a guinea. At the moment 2 have survived and I have my fingers crossed that Mum and these 2 will be ok.
Arrival at rescue:  November 2009
Tinker: Came in to the rescue with Sorrow, Robin, and the 2 baby boars. She is currently living with her Sorrow (her mum) and as she is 10 weeks old and was still with her brothers, there is a chance she could be pregant so she is on pregnancy watch at the moment. She is in good condition considering how neglected she has been.
