Guinea pigs should always have access to a bowl of good quality dried food. I recommend WAGG guinea pig nuggest. The nuggets provide all the nutrients that guinea pigs need and prevents selective eating. It also contains added vitamin C that essential to guinea pigs remaining healthy, as they cannot create their own vitamin C. Rabbit foods and mixed dried food do not always contain this and therefore do not give your guinea pig all the nutrients he/she needs. You can purchase this food from Jolleys and ASDA.

Guinea pigs should be given a variety of fresh fruit/vegetables twice daily. They love most vegetables such as carrots, celery, parsnip, greens, lettuce (in moderation), apples, pears, melon, strawberries, broccoli, cauliflower etc.

Guinea pigs should always have access to fresh water, this should be provided in a water bottle.

Guinea pigs are grazers and therefore their favourite food is grass. They should have frequent access to an outdoor run so that they can graze. If you don't have lawn you can pick them grass regualry but make sure you wash it first. They will also love it if you pick grass for them and give it to them as a treat. This will help build up their trust with you much more quickly.

They also really like READIGRASS, which is good for the winter and for indoor piggies. It is like grass but dried and guinea pigs love it as a treat. You can but this for abuot £2.50 a bag from Jollyes.

Guinea pigs should always have hay in unlimited amounts. This is an essential part of their diet. 80% of a guinea pigs diet should be hay.
